CHURCH OF ENGLAND MENS’ SOCIETY VISIONS UNFULFILLED Froin Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. Disappointment that his visions of tMCe rears ago had not been realised was expressed by Bishop Cherrington at a special service for men in the Cathedral yesterday afternoon. The bishop said he had hoped to make the Cathedral the centre of devotion and brotherly love in the town. Possibly, he had been too impatient and expected too much His Lordship described the Church of England Men's Society as the one bright star in tiie gloomy firmament of church life in Hamilton. In spit : of the rnanv unkind and untrue things said about it the society had triumphed and was the strongest organisation connected with the church The bishop spoke optimistically it the future, expressing the belief that all difficulties could be overcome.
