Obituary
MRS. ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY CAMBRIDGE, Saturday. A well-known and highly esteemed Kara piro (Cambridge) resident, Mrs. Elizabeth Montgomery, died at her son's residence, on Saturday morning, aged 71 years. Mrs. Montgomery was born in Birmingham, and came out to New Zealand, some 56 years ago. For the past ten years she had I lived with her son. Mr. Joseph Mont- : gomery. at Karapiro. MR. W. L. C. WILLIAMS The death occurred at Cambridge, ,on Saturday of one of the most prominent early settlers in the district. : Mr. William Lewis C. Williams, aged . s 7 years. Mr. Williams’s parents came out to New Zealand in the year 1842 !in the ship. “Louisa Campbell,” Mr. i Williams being born on the journey out. I His early days were spent in the North. Mr. Williams was wellj known as manager of the late .T. C. ; Firth’s Matamata estate, and afterwards he was manager for Mr. D. Rich, of the Patetere estate. He went rr> live in Cambridge about 50 years ago and had resided here ever since. H© leaves three sons and one daughter.
