RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“MODERN LOVE” Perhaps the most hilarious comedy feature shown locally in months is flow at the Rialto, Newmarket and Regent, Epsom, Theatres. Heading the cast are Jean Hersholt, Charley Chase and Kathryn Crawford, all well-known and more than adequate In their roles. Their mirthmaking is spectacular in its power to arouse the risibilities of audiences, and every performance is greeted with outbursts of laughter. The story Is based on modern marriage on a 50-f>o basis, and the director has given this picture an unusually human as well, as an amusing twist. Lr. is difficult to ss.y whether the young wife, in love with her husband and wanting to keep her marriage a s. cretin order that she may not lose her position, is to be censured, but at •uy rate one wonders how so many amusing complications can be packed into one film.
