GREY LYNN CINEMA

The* talkie programme at the Grey Lynn Cinema had a most successful opening last evening, and the same items will be repeated again this evening. The feature is the fine all-talking and singing production, “The Singing Fool,” starring A 1 Jolson, the great American vaudeville entertainer. The brilliant talkie supporting programme includes a selection by the New York Philharmonic Society of 120 players, saxophone solos by Ruth Glanville, and a comedy sketch by the inimitable Hebrew comedians, the Howard Brothers. Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell, who achieved undying fame in the silent screen in “Seventh Heaven” and “Street Angel,” are to be introduced to the public in an entirely new way as featured players in talking, singing, and dancing productions for Fox Movietone. Tests have demonstrated their ability to adapt themselves to the new requirements of the sound screen, and they have been cast for featured roles in the Fox Movietone musical comedy, “Sunny Side Up.”
