CRICKET JUBILEE

The management committee of Wellington Cricket Association has decided to celebrate the jubilee of interprovincial matches between Wellington and Canterbury in fitting manner this year. The first match between these provinces was actually played in 1877, but two seasons were missed. Canterbury this year goes to Wellington for the Plunket Shield fixture, which opens on December 28. It has now been decided that on the day before the big match commences a j game shall be arranged for teams of j players from each province consisting *of men who had represented their j province twenty-live or more years ago. ; A committee of Wellington “oldtimers” lias been set up to make the necessary arrangements, and Canterbury is to bo asked to lend a helping hand to make the match a success.
