The shake lasted the best part of a minute and finished with a nasty, twisting movement. Yesterday evening, about 11 o’clock, a very loud booming was heard, but no shake accompanied the noise. An earthquake of comparatively short duration was felt throughout the city and suburbs about 3.45 a.m. It was of minor intensity only.
