L INVERCARGILL CONFERENCE Press Association INVERCARGILL. Thursday. ! The annual conference of the New | Zealand Grain. Seed and Produce Mer- j chants’ Federation was held in Inver- k eargill today. The delegates were olti- j cially welcomed by the Mayor, who expressed keen satisfaction that Inver- j eargill had been made the venue for | the conference for the first time since the federation liad been formed. The president of the federation, Mr. J. Corry (Blenheim), was in the chair. I! A large number of remits of trade int terest was discussed, and tho proceedings lasted throughout the day. The election of officers resulted: President, Nil*. E. A. Rowe (Wellington): vice-president, Mr. G. F. Stevens (Invercargill): executive, North Island, _ E. E. Stoupe (Wellington), W. IT. . Prentis (Auckland); South Island, F. j L. Smith (Ashburton), W. Widdowson ! i (Oamaru). It was decided to hold the next 1 annual conference at Tongariro National Park.
