PEDIGREE PIG SALE
I ron i Our Own Correspondent CAMBRIDGE, Thursday. The fifth annual sale of pedigree pigs was held at Mr. F. Discombe’s Lucernedale stud farm. Tlautapu, yes- | terdar. There was a good attendance | of breeders from all parts of the Wai- ! kato and from Whangarei and Tau- | marunui. Several imported animals were offered, but the reserves were not reached. One Tam worth sow was j passed in at 25 guineas. R. Billing- : ton. Morrinsville. paid 15 guineas for I a Durac Jersey sow. This was the j first time in the Waikato that the re- • cently imported Durac Jersey breed. from the United States, has been ' offered. Keen interest was shown in this breed, sows bringing from 12 to 15 guineas. In other breeds, young boars, from two, months old. brought •from two to five guineas, and young sows the same. Tam worth boars and sows sold well, averaging fi’om seven j guineas to 12 guineas.
