ROLL OF HONOUR
R.S.A. DECIDES TO OPEN FUND WAR MEMORIAL FEATURE A fund for the erection of a roll of honour in the AllcldllKi Wa I Memorial Museum is to be opened immediately. This decision wm made at a meeting o* the executive of the Auckland Returned So. d«ers’ Association last evening when it was also decided to under take the compiling of the roll. 4 PUBLIC meeting is to be callul next week to set up a committ* i to control the work. TO SAVE EXPENSE “The original plan provided for a roll of honour, but it was decided i*. delete it to save expense.” si id Mr. Sexton. “The amount saved and more has been spent on other features.” Mr. Lloyd asked whether the provision of a roll of honour depended entirely upon the obtaining of a sufficient sum by subscription. Mr. Sexton that something could be done if only £2,000 were obtained. Lieutenant-Colonel T. 11. Dawson said there was no necessity to carry on further war Avith the committee, which, be understood, would cease t«» function at three o'clock next Thursday. "We should proceed to rai •* money for the roll of honour.” he add*-:. A committee, consisting of the president, Mr. Sexton. Lieutenant-Colony4 Dawson and Messrs. S. C. Kcid. \ . T. Dibble. J. Seabrook and V. Hove was set up to make preliminary arrangements to call a public meeting and l » open subscription lists.
