Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, with the school children marched to the reserve, where a public meeting was held to | bid the visitors farewell. There was a ! largo attendance. Addresses were de- ! livered by the Mayor, Mr. D. W. Cole- j man. and Mr. W D. Lysnar. M.P., and | his Excellency replied. During the proceedings Sir Charles was presented with a valuable Maori I mat on behalf of Lady Carroll. Later in the afternoon her Excellency delivered an address to the 1.100 { women and girls of the district at the i Opera House. She urged parents to ! their children a bias to life on the ! land, and also spoke on the Plunkot i society. Girl Guides, and the League of Mothers.
