GRAND AND LYRIC

“SOFT LIVING” Madge Bellamy will come to the Grand and Lyric T heat res today in ‘Soft Living.” a hilarious comedydrama of a girl who marries for alimony. Miss Bellamy portrays the role of Nancy Woods, a modern girl who makes her living as secretary to a famous divorce attorney. She has always been cynical about marriage because of the large alimony cheques women clients receive from their exhusbands. Finally, one of the attorney’s best clients persuades Nancy to enjoy all the luxuries of life. About that time Nancy meets Stocknev Webb. who. despite his good looks and country manners, is a wealthy lumber king. This is her chance. But Webb gets wise to Nancy, although he is madly in love with her, so he takes her after their wedding to his hunting lodge up in the wilds among the big trees. The situations between the two are hilarious when Madge finds herself a fullfledged housewife in the wide open spaces, instead of in a luxurious suite of rooms in a Fifth Avenue hotel The second feature is “Sacrifice.” an impelling story of a mother’s love starring two capable English players, Ar.dree Tourneur and G. H. Mulcaster. It is based on the London stage play. The Pelican.”
