ELDERLY MAN TIRES OF HOSPITAL WALKS OFF IN NIGHT CLOTHES l'rom Our Oton Correspondent PALMERSTON N., Thursday. Climbing out of his be€l in one of the wards at the Palmerston North Hospital, unobserved by his fellow patients, Mr. G. K. Plalett, a man aged GO, left the hospital in his night attire and caLised the authorities some concern until he was found at his home at 469 Main Street East on the other side of the town. TJalett’s entrance into the hospital was as unusual as his exit. He was found lying unconscious in the grounds this morning. Apparently lie is subject to fits of dizziness and mental trouble and had a seizure. He was attended to and put in the Wiltshire Ward with five or six other patients. Some time between S.3U and 9.30 this evening lie climbed out of bed and went through the open door on to the verandah and off the premises. Strangely enough, although all his fellow patients were lying awake, his departure went unnoticed and it was not until a sister came in half an hour later that his absence was noticed. On© of the maids returning just before the discovery was made said that she had seen a man down Ruahine Street walking in the direction of Grey Street in bis night clothes. The police were im mediately communicated with and before long- the missing man was found at his home about a mile away.
