IMMEDIATE ACTION DESIRED Immediate effect to the rccommcndai tions to the Government by the Com- : mittee of Inquiry into the working and j living conditions of Alaoris, especially women, employed in Asiatic gardens, is now requested by the Akarana Alaori Association. Last evening, the association decided to ask the Government to arrange re- ‘ gulations to carry out the recom- ; mendations of the committee. Where necessary, according to the i recommendu tions, the association is seeking the curly appointment of * officers to sec that the regulations : formed are observed. The recommendations by the committee provide for the restriction of employment by Asiatics of Alaori girls tinder the age of 21 years ajid for cun- ! trol of living and working conditions jin Chinese and Indian gardens.
