GERMANS TAKE ACTION
DEPORTATION OF PEASANTS TO SIBERIA SERIOUS SITUATION SEEN BERLIN, Tuesday. The German Government lias instructed its Embassy at Moscow to secure a suspension of action against the German-born peasants, whom it is proposed to deport to Siberia. President Hindenberg headed a subscription list tor the refugees with £ lo.ooii from funds at his disposal. The Government is to contribute £IOO.OOO with which sum it is proposed to settle a section of the fugitives in Germany. Those who wish Iq 1,, Canada n ill be assisted. It is explained that a serious situation will be created if all the German peasants who desire to leave Russia are seized. It is estimated that they number at least 80,000.
