PROGRESS DURING THE YEAR A slight increase in the membership, i which now totals 440, was shown in ! the report presented at the annual i meeting of St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, last evening. The receipts in the general account for the 16 months covered bv the report were about X 2,500. Money raised for special purposes included repairs and maintenance fund, C 550: extinction of debt on guild and Bible-class house. £290; and nucleus of Richmond Road Sunday school building fund. £lO5. The Sunday school hall had been painted and renovated, largely by voluntary labour. The youth work of the church was in a flourishing condition. The roll of the main and branch Sunday schools numbered 445, with about 60 teachers and workers, m-king the school the second largest TTi the Presbyterian faith in the Dominion. The Bibleclasses had a membership of 132. All organisations of the church showed steady progress. Managers were re-elected as follow: —.Messrs. A. G. Brown, J. E. Connor, G. I. Gray, R. A. Row, W. J. Tearle and E. MeCoskrie. Two new members, Messrs. A. Ross and A. Craig, were added to the court.
