TAKAPUNA COUNCIL TO CALL MEETING MET BY DEPUTATION Council last evening, when a deputaAss tion urged the council to have everything appertaining to the bridge ready for submission when the Royal Commission resumes on December 2. Air. R. 11. Greville said it would be of great benefit to the association to present to the commission a census of every motor vehicle owned and garaged in the district. To obtain this it may be necessary to employ a man to go tho rounds, but- it was essential that it be obtained. A similar request would be made to all four North Shore boroughs. The council resolved to hold a special meeting, prior to the reopening of the commission, to matters connected with the bridge*. An interim donation of .£lO 10s was made to the Bridge Association’s funds, members intimating that the amount will be increased when the financial position of the borough had improved. In order to keep the public of Takapuna. abreast of the position of the bridge controversy, the Mayor was instructed to call a public meeting for Thursday. November 28.
