The tour was made for th purpose of ascending the peak knowi |as Donald Mac-Lean, a distinctiv ; headland which presents a bold out ; line from the Manukau Harbour. | On Saturday evening camp 'wa j pitched oil the banks of the Kamara tura Stream. An early start wa made next morning, and after follow in" the stream to a height of 700 fee above sea-level, where the remains o a very old logging dam were discov ered. the- part’- left the stream am proceeded- in a south-westerly direc lion to reach the summit of Donah MacLcan shortly after 2 p.m. Som« i wonderful views were obtained ei 1 route and on the summit, and th< j party, on descending, returned to One j hunga by launch,
