ELDERLY VAGRANT SENT TO HOME ”NDER “ARMY’S” CARE For several weeks Michael Curran has been using empty sections as dormitories and the ground as his bed. This morning he appeared at the Police Court and Staff-Captain Holmes offered to find the man temporary accommodation in the Salvation Army Home. Curran, a labourer, aged GO, was charged with being idle and disorderly, having insufficient visible means of support. He denied that he hacl been disorderly or that he had caused trouble to anyone. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that Curran had been arrested last night he lay asleep in an empty section In Parnell, lie told Constable Fowke that he had been sleeping out for weeks past and had no means. “He has been in and out of trouble for years anr! it is hard to know what to do with him,** added the sub-inspector. Remarking that the man had told him that there was a little gardening he could do, Staff-Captain Holmes offered to see that Curran was taken care of. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., ordered accused to come up for sentence when called upon.
