The Prince of Wales's airplane. | in which his pilot was returning from Paris with a friend, landed at Woking : in order to avoid the thicker fog ’ [ which hung over London. At first it | was believed that the Prince was in tlie machine, but his Highness has j. been in London throughout the day and had merely lent the airplane to ] his pilot. I In the evening the fog gave way ;to heavy rain and strong winds. For i the second time within a week more 1 ; than one inch of rain was registered i I in 24 hours in many parts of soutli- > ern England. , The first fall of snow this season . was also experienced. The horse-racing at Hurst Park and - many other outdoor events had to be ; postponed. Extensive flooding is reported from many areas. Only one air liner left „ Croydon yesterday. The Indian mail was dispatched by boat and train to Budapest. Heavy seas ran in the English Channel but no loss of life was r«-- ► i ported.
