The E class keeler May Belle spent the week-end on the outside of Motutapu. * * * The L class y’aclits, Cynthia and Dolphin. which were on the hard at Shelly* Beach, took the water again on Sunday. Sails and Covers, Ltd., Auckland, are to make new suits this season for the | 26-footer Spray and for the 22-footers j Kokiri and Otira. Twilight’s first trip this season was made when she went to Motuihi on j Sunday. ITuia went to Matiatia Bay ! on Saturday afternoon to clean. Keelers at Islington Bay last weekend were Windward. Rang!, Y’anity and Loloma. Most of these were back on their mooring by* 5 o’clock on Sunday afternoon. Lady© Wilma made a trip to Home Bay* last week-end. Peri went down into the water last week-end, and is ndw on her moorings at Mechanics’ Bay'. The keelers Thelma and Ariki will probably be launched this week, and Kotiri is to come off the hard next week-end. Dorothy' took the water last Friday night and was rigged during the week-end. Tho A class keel yacht Victory went to Maraetai last week-end for cleanTasman 11., Mr. Berridge Spencer's new 38ft. launch, is nearly ready to take tho water. She is now in his shed at Stanley Point, having the final touches put on. Mr. Spencer expects to launch her in about a month. Tho 7 6-footer Cyclone was towed back to her moorings at Ponsonby by Desdemona on Sunday'. She appeared to have lost her rudder. Maroro and Maratea, which sailed to the Tamaki last week-end, appeared to bo doing well in a hard blow, both going out and returning. The Star class yacht June is showing better form this season. Witness her performance in winning the Richmond Cruising Club’s handicap cruising race to Brown’s Bay last Saturday. It was a stiff race for the small craft. Overall she was longer than some other boats in the race, but taken all round she was the smallest boat m the race and had to contend with a whole-sail sou’-wester. ❖ * # Speedwell and Colleen, which were on the beach at Judge’s Bay, took the water on Saturday. Speedwell is now on her moorings at Mechanics’ Bay. An old champion, Omatere, a 26ft. mullety, was out on the harbour on Saturday looking in good order. She has recently arrived back from Thames, where she has been for seven or eight years. Logan-built, she has been placed back in his hands to put her back in her old sailing trim. Her “stick” and case have been set back to their original positions. * * Mr. YY’. Laurie has decided to sell his 26-footer Awatere. She is at present on the hard at Judge's Bay’. Star class men have decided to abandon the scheme under which they' have raced up to the present in Auckland. Heretofore their events have all been run under the American Star Boat Association’s rules, and the local Star men have resolved that henceforth they will race under tlie rules of the Auckland Yacht and Motor Boat Association. The handicappers of the Akarana Yacht Club will handicap these boats in all their events this season.

TAURANGA REGATTA The 'L'auranga Regajtta Club announces the programme for its annual regatta carnival, which is tu be held on December 2 7 next. There are some changes from last year’s programme in the launch and sailing section. Owing to poor support in the past it has been considered necessary to reduce the prize money for the mullet boat ocean race, but as the Clench Trophy goes with this event, it is hoped* that more encouragement will be forthcoming this year. Following are particulars of the launch and sailing events: Ocean Race, for heelers. —From Auckland to the Mount, Tauranga. Starts at Auckland Christmas Eve. First prize, Colin Norris Memorial Gold Cup and miniature, £ls cash and flag: second, £10: third, £5; fourth. £3. Champion flag to the yacht doing fastest time. Entrance, £l. Ocean Race, for mullet boaJ.s. From Auckland to tlie Mount, Tauranga, starting Christmas Eve. Maben, of Auckland, for annual competition in the Tauranga Midgets seven-foot class, will be sailed for between Christmas and New Tear. Mr. Chas. Clinkard. Tauranga. is the secretary of the Tauranga Regatta Club. The Takapuna Boating Club will take part in the opening clay events with races for classes JT, L. N. T. X, Y and Z. For classes T. X and Y a combined race will be held and crash prizes will be paid out in the clubhouse the following Monday night. The prizes are:—First, £3; second, £2; third, £l. Tn place of an ocean race, the Takapuna Boating Club is holding an extended cruising race on November 30 for classes M. L and X. The course will be round Motutapu and round Motuilii to Matiatia Bay, and cash prizes will be paid out in the bay that night. The prizes are:—First, £4; second, £2; third, £l. The Akarana Yacht .Club's weeklv dance will bo held at the clubhouse. Mechanics’ Ba;v, tomorrow night.
