SCHOOL ATHLETICS
HAURAKI PLAINS EVENTS from Our Own Correspondent NO ATE A. Monday. A decision to hold another athletic championship sports meeting for the schools of Haoraki Plains on similar lines to the very successful meeting last summer was made at a meeting of representatives of school committees ; held at Ngatea last week. Mr. C. S. , Foster, of Ngatea, presided, and Mr. W. I'. Wylde was appointed secretary. Ngatea was again chosen as the venue for the sports and the date selected was Marcii 7. As there was a credit of £29 from the previous meeting. it was agreed that there would be no need to appeal to tne public for donations. No change was made in the ! programme except in the order of j • vents, and the chairman and secretary were empowered to procure suitable 1 miniature cups or medals for prizes. It was decided to number all competitors its well as have distinctive colours for the eleven schools taking part.
