WAIOMO PARK SCHEME
SUPPORT AT PURIRI That the Thames Valley people are ardent supporters of the Waiomo Park, purchased by the Thames Borough i Council as a coast resort for the in- j habitants of the district, was shown by ! the large attendance at Puriri. when I Mr. AV. Bongard, Mayor of Thames, outlined the queen carnival scheme for I raising money to complete the purchase. Mr. Bongard said the park was for the use of the whole countryside, and raising funds should be a district 1 matter. The sum required was £1,500. j Air. A. G. Bryan supported the j .Mayor, and said the purchase of YVaiomo would provide a playground for all time. Several other speakers also : supported the scheme.
