RETENTION BY N.S.W. STATE CABINET BASIC WAGE FORMULA Rccd. 9.55 a.m. SYDNEY’, Today. lt is now considered certain that the State Cabinet will retain the child endowment scheme, but will draft a formula. 10 provide for a basic wage for a man and wife without children, at about. £4 weekly. Tiie endowment fund will not be made a direct charge on industry, as at present, hut the fund may be built up by weekly contributions from the employers and the employees, and a subsidy from the Government.
