TIVOLI
“MODERN LOVE,” A TALKIE Much credit goes to the production on “Modern Love.” Universal talking picture made on the modern fiftv-fifty marriage idea, which is now at the Tivoli Theatre. Sparkling with amusing situations which are not exaggerated but naturally produced through the development of the story, the picture was received with enthusiasm by the audience again on Saturday. Charley Chase, who plays the role of the young husband struggling to establish a home without having to use any of the money his wife ear.is, is perfectly cast. Kathryn Crawford, as the wife who through love for her husband is willing to sacrifice her own career only to discover that he has unfortunately lost his much vaunted position, is a perfect foil. Jean Hersholt, the featured player, :s a remarkable character actor. He gives a perfect performance. An excellent selection of talkie fcai turettes completes the programme.
