The building throughout is of fireproof material, the outside walls being of red brick. Work in connection with the laying out of the grounds is already well advanced. Drives and a paved entrance are being formed to give access from Kautanui Road, off East Tamaki Road. An orchard has been planted, and the groundsman, who has been in residence for some j time, has prepared a vegetable gari den for the needs of the home, i The home stands on an area of 40 j acres, and portion, which will be | j utilised as a farm in connection with ■ the home, will help to defray part of 1 i the maintenance cost.
