RIFLE SHOOTING
THAMES DEFENCE CLUB (Iront Our own Correspondent) THAMES, Sunday. At the end of April, 1920, Mr. E. IST. Miller presented a cup to the Thames Defence Rifle Club for competition. Thrico a. year since that date has the cup been competed for, and numerous names are engraved thereon. Last Saturday afternoon saw the cup fall I to the rifle of Air. R. Pearson, pro- ; sident of the club, and, this making his fifth win at intervals, the trophy now becomes his properly. Riflemen | A. Newland, A. McLean and It. Cam- : cron each had 87 poipts, but the cup j went to the latter shooter, who fired from scratch. The conditions on Saturday were I most trying, a tricky wind blowing ' across the range and the scurrying clouds giving a varying light.
