HORTICULTURE INSTITUTE’S GIFT The Auckland branch of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture has bought the winning exhibit for the I,odor Cup at the Auckland Horticultural Society’s rose show for .‘2 50 and has presented it to the City ui Auckland. The exhibit comprised 7 4 varieties of ferns, olearias, senecios, 64 varieties of veronicas, GO rock plants, 18 climbers. and 220 shrubs and trees. The collection, which is very valuable, is at present housed in the buslnhousc at the Domain, as permanent disposition of the plants cannot be made until next planting season. If the proposal to establish a botanical garden materialises the Loder Cup collection will no doubt be planted in it.
