FEILDING CATTLE FAIR
DEMAND FOR JERSEYS Wear# Association FEILDIXG, Friday. At the supplementary cattle fair at Feilding today, nearly 3,000 head were yarded. Prices were about level with those at the main cattle fair a few weeks ago. There was a good demand for dairy cattle, particularly Jerseys. The range of prices was:—Yearling Jcrsevs, very good £9 10s good to £7 sa, Others £4 Ss to £6 Os; Polled Angus steers, £4 3s to £7; Hereford steers, £6 Is to £6 Ss: Shorthorn steers, £6 3s; heifers. Polled Angus, £0 Is to £6 7s Gd: Polled AngusHereford cross steers. £ 6 38s to £7: two-year Polled Angus steers, £7 3s Gd to £9 7s; two-year Hereford cross, £G 18s to £7: two-year Polled Angus heifers, £7 to £7 3s; rough-coated steers, £3; nondescript yearling heifers, £3 19s; three-year Hereford heifers, £S: four-yar Hereford steers, £ll 12s: mixed colours fonr-year-steers, £9 9s Gd; good five-year bullocks, £l2 2s, Fat cattle: Heifers, £lO 5s to £11; COWS, £9 Is to £10; steers, £l2 10s. The best prices were equal to 40s a 1001 b. Hairy stock: Springing heifers, good £l2 to £l3 10s others £5 10s to £9; heifers in milk. £9 15s to £lO 7s 6d. Sheep: Fat black-faced two-tooths, best lines 27s Sd to 2Ss, good 25s Id to 275, medium 23s 3d to 24s 6d. poor 21s 9d. shorn 21s; fat hoggets, 24s 2d; fat maiden ewes, 275; woolly, poor, 20s lOd to 24s 2d; shorn, prime, 24s 8d to 255; good. 22s to 23s lOd: medium. 20s 7d to 23s 9d: fat wethers, 255. Stores: Two-tooth wethers. 22s Sd to 23s 4d; two-tooth #wes, 31s 3d.
