GRAND AND LYRIC
“THE CAVALIER” El Caballero, the mysterious knight-errant who is loved by the Indians as much as he is feared by their oppressor, the cruel and avaricious Torreno, is the central figure of “The Cavalier,” the special production efaturing Richard Tnlmudge, Barbara, Bedford and David Torrence, showing today at the Grand and Lyric Theatres. In this adaptation of “The Black Rider,” n novel by Max Brand, Talmadge plays the title role and Barbara. Bedford has the part of Lucia, the heroine. David Torrence plays tho elder Torreno, product of Barcelona’s wine-shops, and David Mir is his son, Carlos, fur whom he has arranged a wedding with Lucia, the daughter of the D’Arquistas. one of Spain’s proudest—and poorest—families. Tho gay carnival at the height of tho season at Nice is the background for the second feature, a charming romance entitled “Confetti.”
