Heavy Canterbury Frost Orchards and gardens were severely damaged by a 19-degree frost this morning. In many cases fruit that had survived the hard frost on October l 4 was destroyed. Some districts also report damage to crops by heavy rain following a. sudden change in the weather yesterday.—P.A.
