Round the Churches
Divine services, morning and evening, will be conducted at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Parnell, by Canon Fancourt, whose subject in the eveni:% will be “What Is Your Life?” “A Radiant Shore” will be the subject taken by the Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher at the evening service of the Beresford Street Congregational Church. In the morning he will preach upon “Things Worth Considering.”
The preachers at the morning and evening services of St. Matthew’s Church, Wellesley Street, will be the Rev. T. Gilfillan and the Rev G. R. Monteith, respectively. “Peace” will be the subject taken by Mr. S. R. Goodman at the 11 o’clock morning service of the Auckland Higher Thought Temple, and in the evening the speaker will be Mr. T. W. Silcock, whose subject will be “The Overcoming Power.” Morning and evening services will be conducted at both the Edendale Presbyterian Church, Balmoral Road, and the Somervell Presbyterian Church, Remuera. The 45th Sunday school anniversary will be celebrated by services at the Mount Eden Congregational Church. * * Rev. G. J. Marshall will be the preacher at the 11 o’clock morning service of St. John’s Church, Ponsonbv, while in the evening the preacher will be the Rev. E. A friendly musical gathering will b*» ! held by the Men’s Brotherhood, j Y.M.C.A., at 4.15 p.m. The Rev. G. Jackson will conduct the evening service of the Communitv Mission, Zealandia Hall. At 8.15 p.m. an open discussion will be held for all. “Our Spirit Friends” will be the topic taken by the Rev. J. G. Hughes at the 7 p.m. service of the Progressive Church of Spiritualists, Alma Street. Newmarket. The Spiritual Scientists’ Church will conduct morning and evening services. “Mortals and Immortals” will be the subject at the First Church of Christ, Christian Science. Church Hall. Symonds Street. The Rev. A. S. Wilson will preach (at both morning and evening services at the Grange Road Baptist Church. Masses will be held at 6.30. 7.30. 9 and 1L a.m. at St. Benedict's Church. j The annual meeting of the Sudan United Mission will be held in the j Unity Hall, Queen Street, on Monday j evening.
