BIRKENHEAD SUPPORT Pointing out that Birkenhead was one of the bright spots in the board’s area, and up to recently was the largest consumer next to Takapuna, Mr. J. W. Hayden, chairman of the Waitemata Electric-Power Board, appealed to the residents of Birkenhead last evening to support the board’s £ 100,000 loan proposals! The Mayor of Birkenhead, Nlr. J. P. McPhail, presided, and about 50 people were present. After Mr. Hayden had given a comprehensive outline of the board’s operations and the reason for raising the loan, a vote of confidence in the board and support for the loan proposal was carrie d unan im o u.sly.
