That is the sentence passed upon Taki, the kindly sheep herder, when he is found guilty of negligence in guarding the tent of Lucia, a beautiful but unhappy promised bride, m “The Cavalier,” the special production which is now at the Grand and Lyric Theatres. Taki is portrayed by that intrepid stunt star. Richard Talmadge. and it is only one of his identities When necessary to protect those who have suffered at the hands of the Ramon Torreno, Taki becomes E* Caballero —“The Cavalier" —a man who tries to undo the wrongs of others —to relieve the oppressed and the fortunate. Barbara Bedford plays the role of the bartered bride, whom Li Caballero rescues for himself, David Torrence is the bullying elder Torreno. The gay carnival at the height of tna season at Nice is the background tor the second feature, a charming r 0" mance entitled “Confetti.”
