WHIPPET CLUB’S SPRING MEETING
The New Zealand Whippet Club has issued the programme for its spring meeting to be held on the New Brighton (Christchurch) racecoure on November 10. Four events figure on the card, all being over the usual 200 yards. The principal event is the New Zealand Cup, a handicap of 25sovs. and a cup valued at £3O. The second dog takes ssovs. from the stake and the inners. of heats each take a sovereign. In addition there is a second-class handicap of Bsovs. and a hurdle race of the same value. The final event is a consolation handicap restricted to nonprize winners. Nominations close on October 30, and handicaps will be declared on November 4.
