SHORT PERIOD LOANS
REPLY TO WAITEMATA COUNCIL DEFINITE BASIS MADE A reply to the protest by the Waitemata. County Council against shortperiod loads was received by the council from the Local Government Loans Board. The reply said each application was dealt with on its merits and the board was furnished with expert advice on the probable life of tho assets to be created from loan funds. A definite basis was obtained for fixing the rate of sinking funds. Tho Alain Highways Board was reported to have authorised the carrying out of of operations on the earth works.of the Titirangi highway on condition that the council finances tho work until next April. Definite advice was reported that tho Alain Highways Board would not allow the council to construct Lincoln Road in cement penetration A recommendation was made for tho destruction of Shelly Beach wharf. Action will be taken against offenders exceeding the limited weight of the Kumeu-Albany highway. Thirty-one building permits, valued at £31.645. were approved. Application will bo made to the Local Government Loans Board t«» borrow £BOO for work on the Oratia water supplj*. ______
