All Peters was the first to show out from Aileen Wood, Lenwood, Peter Lin and Great Amazon, but Aileen Wood went to a bad break before the back stretch was reached. Peter Lin had taken charge after going half a furlong, and with a round to go was showing the way to Lenwood. Young Carbine, Audobell, Lady Fan, Lazarus, Bingen Starr and Duke Bingen. Peter Lin led down the back and into the straight from Lenwood, and holding his own in the run home won by half a length, with Young Carbine three lengths away third. Then followed Dolores, Lady Fan, Lazarus, All Peters and Bingen Starr. Billy Sea soon hit tho front, and leaving the straight was showing the way to Grey Cloud, Final McKinney, General Bingen, Dalmeny and Okoura. The same order was maintained entering the back straight, but at the tanks Loch Moigli had taken third place. Billy Sea was first to turn for home from Grey Cloud, Loch Moigh, Final McKinney and Bonny Logan, Loch Moigh challenged strongly in the run home, but Billy Sea held his place to win by two lengths, . Bonny Logan three lengths away third. Then followed Final McKinney, St. Moira, August Dillon and Dalmeny. Logan Hanlon came to grief after going a furlong.
