COMMERCE TRAIN

PASSENGERS FROM MANY POINTS LEAVES ON FRIDAY This year the Auckland Chamber of Commerce train will carry men from other parts of the Dominion who arc interested in the Auckland Province, when it leaves on Friday. One of them will lie Mr. AY. Lock. ex-Mayor of Nelson. Another is Mr. A. Seed, secretary of the Dominion Sawmillers’ Federation, Wellington. Mr. H. D. M. Haszard, Waihi, Mr. J. McDonnell, Opotiki, Mr. H. A. Down. Wellington, Mr. C. H. Burgess, New Plymouth. Mr. H. C. Ernest. Papatoetoe, and Mr. A. R. Crane, Whangarei, are others who will make the trip. This year the Auckland Chamber extended an invitation to Chambers of Commerce in other parts of the Dominion, and several interested business men will join the train for one of the most interesting tours it is possible to make. Several Government officials will also be on the train to supply any information the travellers may want. Mr. H. H. Sterling, general manager of the railways, may make the whole trip or part of it. Other officials will be:—Mr. E. Casey, divisional superintendent, North Island Railways; Mr. D. Rodie, commercial manager; Mr. A. Wellsted, business agent,' Auckland; Mr. G. G. Stewart, publicity manager; Mr. A. 11. W. Evenden, who will havo charge of the refreshments and catering on the train; Mr. F. W. Furkert, engineer-in-chief, Public Works Department; Mr. J. W. Collins, secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce; Mr. J. Mclnnes, district engineer, Public Works Department.; and possibly a representative of the Department of Agriculture. Mr. R. B. Morris will travel on the train and do secretarial work, and a Government photographer will also make the trip. ihe full list of Auckland members of the Chamber of Commerce who are going on the train was published last week.
