ARRESTED IN RAID
bookmaker and two VISITORS FINED PENALTIES TOTAL £29 Following a raid made by Detec-tivs-Seraeart McHugh and Detective Nalder on rooms in a City building this morning, Martin Joseph O’Connor was fined £25 at the Police Court for keeping a com - men gaming house. Phillip Campbell, a labourer aged 33, and Francis Eugene Hayes, a boot importer aged 51, who were found on the premises when the raid was made shorty after 11 o”clock. were each Hired £2. O'Connor, described as an agent, aged K, p eaded guilty to using the premises mown as No. 7, Union Buildings as i 'ommon gaming house. The other Ml secused admitted being unlawtully on the premises. According to Detective-Sergeant Kelly, O’Connor had been betting for some time but not on a large scale. It was Ills first appearance before the court.
