PERSONAL. —A number of important changes in the commands of the New Zealand Shipping Company’s and Federal Line steamers are announced. Captain J. L. B. Hunter, formerly of the Rotorua, has been appointed to the command of the new motor-liner Rangitata, which will leave Southampton on November 22 on her maiden voyage to New Zealand. Mr. T. L. Maltby is chief officer of the Rangitata, which is due at Auckland on December 24. Captain A. W. McKellar, formerly of the Ruapehu, and late of the Remuera, has been appointed commander of the third new motor-liner, the Rangitane, which is to leave Southampton on December 20 on her maiden voyage to New Zealand, and is due at Wellington on January 22. Captain M. J. Anderson, who was chief officer of the Rangitiki on her maiden voyage to New Zealand, has been appointed master of the Westmoreland. Captain F. S. Hamilton, late of the Westmoreland, is now in command of the ronsrariro. having relieved Captain Kettleweil, who has resigned. Captain A. R. Macßae, D.S.C.. late of Cornwall 6 '’ haS taken comman d of the Captain .T. G. Almond, late of the Hurumu. is now in command of the Surrev. Captain A. Nelson has been appointed master of the Progress, relieving Cantain L. Holm. TUTANEKAI DUE. —The Government steamer Tutanekai left Wellington at 8 o clock yesterday morning on her i ound trip to the northern lighthouses. She is expected here on November 23 and is due back at Wellington about December 12. DORINGTON COURT DEPARTS. A departure from Auckland yesterday afternoon was the steamer Dorington Court for Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Fremantle to unload the balance of her cargo of nitrates from Chile. ULIMAROA AND M ARAM A. —The TJlimaroa, which arrived at Wellington vesterday from Sydney, sails on Fridav at 11 a.m. on her return trip to Sydney. The Marama leaves Sydney at 3 p.m. on Friday for Auckland, where she is due next Tuesday morning. MANUKA AT MELBOURNE. —Due at Melbourne today from Bluff, the Union Company's passenger steamer Manuka leaves the "Victorian port again next Wednesday for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington. She is due at Bluff on November 24 and at Wellington on November 29. HAURAKI FROM PACIFIC COAST.— Due at Auckland at 5 p.m. tomorrow from the Pacific Coast, the Union Company’s motor-ship Hauraki will berth later at the King’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo before proceeding to Wellington, Melbourne. Adelaide and Sydney to complete discharge. MAHANA LEAVES LIVERPOOL. — Confirmation has been received by 7.. D. Nathan and Company that the Shaw, SaviU and Albion Company’s steamer Malta mi left Liverpool last Saturday with general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on December 17. PORT HUNTER LEAVES.— At 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon the C. and D. Line's steamer Port Hunter was dispatched from Auckland for Tokomaru Bay. Gisborne. Napier and Wellington to complete her loading for Home. She is to clear Wellington finally on November 27 for London, via Panama. MAUNGANUI TO RESUME.— The local Office of the Union Company advises that the. Maunganui, which is undergoing overhaul and survey at Auckland, resumes in the intercolonial service next week. She leaves here on Tuesday for Wellington and sails from Wellington on Friday. November 22, for Svdnev, in Place of the Maheno, which will enter the Melbourne service with the Manuka. MAUI POMARE'S ITINERARY. —The Government motor-ship Maui Pomare, which left Auckland yesterday afternoon with passengers, mails and cargo for Niue Island and Apia, Samoa, loads at the Islands for Lyttelton. Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Lyttelton on December 2 and at Auckland five davs later. On December 9 the Maui Pomare leaves Auckland for Norfolk Island. RUAHINE AT COLON. —Advice has been received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Companv that thfiner Ruahine, en route from London and Southampton to New Zealand ports, arrived at Colon on November 12.
