EMPRESS, NEWTON
TWO BIG TALKIES The two fine full-length talkies which have been shown at the Roxy Theatre, Queen Street, recently, will continue to be presented at the Empress Theatre, Newton, for a few more days. The first picture is “Show Folk,” a new and entertaining story of the lives of American vaudeville players, full of tuneful music, and starring Lina Basquette, clever dancer, and Eddie Quinlan, comedian. The second big picture is “Sal of Singapore,” a particularly exciting sea tale, which is interpreted by a large cast, headed by Phyllis Haver, Alan Hale, and Fred Kohler.
