YACHT SINKS

NEARLY SUBMERGED A 16-foot yacht owned by Mr. Raymond Allen, of 37 Glen Road, Stanley Bay, sank at its moorings off Craig’s breastwork this morning. It was leaking when it was sailed OA r er from its usual moorings at Stanley Bay yesterday afternoon and it apparently took in a good deal of water overnight Avhile lying off the breastwork. This morning it was found with only the tip of the mast and a small portion of the hull showing, and it was lying well over to port. It was towed back to Stanley Bay by one of the Auckland Launch and Towboat Company’s towboats shortly after midday.
