THIEVES FIRE HOUSE
BUILDING RANSACKED LITTLE DAMAGE DONE Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The residence of Mr. E. J. Bell, painter and paperhanger, 64 Antigua Street South. Avas ransacked and deliberately set on fire during the absence of Mr. and Mrs. Bell this evening. The brigade arrived at about 9.45 p.m A small safe in the kitchen withstood attempts to force it, and as far as can be ascertained nothing of \ r alue is missing. In other rooms the furniture was moved about, beds were left in disorder, cupboards opened and the contents strewn on the floor. The damage by fire Avas slight and was confined to the kitchen.
