MAN BADLY SLASHED WITH RAZOR POLICE GUARD WOMAN Kecd 11 a.m. SYDNEY. Today. Razor-slashings have become so frequent in Sydney and the suburbs that hardly a. day passes without a victim being received in hospital. Arthur Mefret was last night attacked at Stanmore. and 12 stitches had to be inserted in a five-inch gash in his neck. Walter Tomlinson, who was one of t lk? men shot in guerilla warfare at Surrey Hills on Sunday night, although he is dying, refuses to speak. He was connected with the sensational shooting of Gaffney at Maroubra in J uly. The lipme of Tilly Devine, tlie wife of the man then arrested, is being guarded by armed police, in consequence of a threat received by her.
