RESISTED ARREST
TROUBLESOME PRISONER FINED 30 - Said by Sub-Inspector McCarthy to have resisted violently when arrested by Constable Peterson yesterday, William John Brett was fined a total of 30s, in default five days’ imprisonment, at the Police Court this morning;. Brett, a firemau, aged :U. pleaded luilty to charges of being found drunk In Upper Queen Street and resisting a constable in the execution of bis duty. The sub-inspector said that Brett iad been with a man who was a--f ested on a charge of theft. One countable had taken care of Brett’s companion. a man named King, and tin other had hail some difficulty with Brett. The man hml two previous convictions, one for theft and the other and more recent for drunkenness. Brett was fined 10s for drunkenness, and £1 on the major charge.
