AUSTRALIA AND RUSSIA

NEW CABINET APPROVES BRITISH MOVE RESUMPTION OF RELATIONS Reed. 11.40 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. The “Daily Guardian” says Australia has been added as a party to the British Government’s decision to resume relations with Russia. The Prime Minister, Mr. J. H. Scullin, said: “We are in full accord with the action of the British Government. The question of the representation of Russia in Australia will not arise until the Soviet makes application to the Commonwealth to that effect.” A London message says Sir Esmond Ovey, who has been British Minister to Mexico since 1925, is now mentioned as possible Ambassador to Russia.
