KING AT THE THEATRE

GREETED BY CHEERING AUDIENCE DELIGHTFUL RECEPTION LONDON, Friday. The King and Queen, accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of York, were warmly welcomed at Drury Lane Theatre last evening. It was his Majesty’s first visit to a theatre since his illness. The audience rose and cheered for a considerable time before the curtain was raised for the performance of “Rose Marie.” The King was delighted with this demonstration of loyalty and raised his hat, smiling acknowledgment. The Queen looked magnificently regal in a dress of gold tissue, a furtrimmed coat, and wearing a diamond bandeau and ear-rings. The Duchess of York wore a pale pink dress and an iridescent cloak. A British official wifeless message states that this mo mg the King received several Cabinet Ministers at Buckingham Palace.
