BLACK-WALLINGFORD

A particularly picturesque wedding was celebrated at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Parnell, during the week, when Miss Ena Wallingford, only daughter of Major and Mrs. j A. Wallingford, of Mount Roski|| was married to Mr. Adrian Buxton Black, only son of Mrs. C. B Black, of Herne Bay. ihe ceremony was performed by Canon Fancourt. % rpHE bride, who was given a.way by L her father, wore a charmingly graceful frock of sand-coloured georgette with scalloped tiered skirt and a becoming picture hat with sandcoloured ribbon brim, the whole being worked all over in lovely rich autumn tints. An exquisite bouquet composed of flowers in russet tones ra.ngin?c from scarlet gerberas to golden-shaded roses, completed the autumn effect. The bridesmaid. Miss Wynne Wallace, of Te Awamutu, was frocked in autumn-tinted floral chiffon, with which was worn a crinoline picture hat in similar tones, the bouquet repeating the same note of colour. Mr. Clark Wills acted as best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony a reception was held at the Veterans’ Home, where a guard of honour, consisting of the veterans in full uniform, met the bridal couple on their arrival. Inside, the tables were attractively decorated with vases of orange and gold iceland poppies. The bride’s mother. Airs. Wallingford. received the guests in a smart frock of floral pussy-willow si.k on a a navy georgette coat and hat on suite, her bouquet being of rich red ro.ses. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Black, was charmingly flocked in sliver grey lace, with hat and georgette cent in tlie same shade anil a bouquet delicate lavender flowers. Among the guests were Mrs. S. Wallingford, Colonel and Airs. Newman, •Captain and Mrs. Wallingford, Major . and Mrs. Glendinning, Mr. and Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Weir (Christchurch >, Mr. and Mrs. Julian. Mrs. Dyson, Mr. And Mrs. McLaren.
