AUSTRIA’S STRUGGLES
BRITAIN INTERESTED IN OUTCOME Bj-itish Official Wireless RUGBY, Tuesday.’ Reference was made in the Houlse jf Commons today to the political situation in Austria by the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Arthur Henderson. He said both parties in that country were discussing the problem of the Constitution in the manner provided for by .the Parliamentary institutions of their country and in a spirit congenial to those institutions. The British Government sincerely hoped that the endeavours of tae Republic would enable it to return rapidly to normal conditions and to disarm and disband those semi-military organisations which hampered the progress and development of the country. Any attempt to deal with the problems by other means, which would mean the breakdown of the present Parliamentary negotiations, would naturally cause the British Government grave concern, as they would constitute a serious menace to international stability.
