WENT OFF TOO SOON

FIREWORKS AT HAMILTON CHILDREN DISAPPOINTED Front Our Oien Correspondent HAMILTON, Tuesday. The premature explosion of a firework display arranged by Girl Guides and Boy Scouts for the benefit of the children in the Waikato Hospital caused much disappointment tonight. Fireworks had been purchased with funds subscribed by residents, and a lai-ge ciW-d had gathered to witness the display. A bonfire was lit and about half the fireworks had been discharged, when a spark fell into the box containing the balance of them. There were many violent explosions and a considerable conflagration, but the crowd had been kept well back by a cordon of guides and scouts, and nobody was injured.
