ADJOURNED AGAIN

SETTLER’S BANKRUPTCY The fourth meeting of creditors of Philip F. Farnworth, settler, of Devonport, held yesterday, was adjourned until December 2 to allow final claims to be proved against the estate. The official assignee, Mr. A. W. Watters, stated that bankrupt’s solicitor, Mr. Kells Mason, had advised that the sum of £3OO formerly offered in full settlement if creditors were prepared to recommend an annulment of bankruptcy was not now available. The person who had offered the money, however, might still be able to raise the amount on securities held, but he was not willing to bind himself in writing. “It is a very unsatisfactory position,” commented the assignee in reporting that he had not yet received a statement of bankrupt’s position. An assurance was given yesterday that this would be forthcoming before the adjourned meeting in December.
